PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Jean Sachar Moog has been in the field of deaf education for over 40 years. She is internationally renowned for her work in oral deaf education. She has developed assessment and rehabilitation procedures for children with hearing impairments and has developed 10 evaluation instruments that have been translated into many languages and employed worldwide by educators, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists. Jean has been awarded numerous grants, honored with awards and has traveled internationally to give workshops and short courses in Argentina, Canada, England, Japan, New Zealand, and Italy. Jean is currently the Executive Director of the Moog Center for Deaf Education in St. Louis and Director for Oral Deafness Programs for the Oberkotter Foundation. Over the past ten years she has helped establish nine Moog Curriculum Schools, eight in the United States and one in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  However, Jean's greatest accomplishment is being married to the same person for more than fifty years and she is most proud of her ten grandchildren.
